The problem is that some work for children is too hazardous for children and it puts there lives in danger and that they are slaves and abused greatly. There should be a bill to not end child labor but to legalize it in a way that would end the horrible conditions of it. Child prostitution, slavery should be ended and the pay to be raise to at least to $5 an hour. There should also and age limit depending the job. These jobs cannot exceed the capability of these children. Children should also be given food, appropriate tools for the job, and freshwater. These children should be treated fairly and not abused. These children should be protected by those who abuse them and those who abuse should be fined and imprisoned depending on the extent of the abuse and the condition.

    Resolution:

Kids should be able to work but they should get paid more and there are some jobs that kids can do that adults can not so that is a benefit to child labor. But the environment they work in should be better plus they should be able to have time for there families and education. Kids should also have jobs that are good for kids to do and are proper for example kids should not be able to work in mining or prostitution and also plus some of the kids that work, there jobs do not always meet legal requirements. Some labors that are carried out underground, under water, or at dangerous heights or in narrow spaces are dangerous for kids also that carry out with dangerous machines, materials or tools or that involve handling or transporting weights also that expose children to dangerous substances are dangerous, unsafe and can affect children safety and health.
Now Children can work but there are just certain requirements that the jobs need and there are certain jobs that they can do that does not have any danger that can harm a child. Child Labor should be kept but should be made into something that can help and benefit children lives.

    1) What is the issue?
The issue is child labor. Child labor is when children have to work underage.
    2) What is the problem with this issue?
When the children works in factories, mining, etc they get sick very easily and get
Hurt when they are working. Also when children mine in the caves or lower level
They can get killed by the rocks.
    3) What should the UN do to solve this problem?
I think they should stop the underage working for the children because it can harm them and parents will be very upset and sad about their children’s death or unhealthy body.

Child labor is good because with young children they last longer and do more work faster. The younger the child the younger the parent so the parent can work with the child and then when the parent gets too old to work the child can take over the parents position and make the money for the family. A good affect from this for the children is that it will give the children an early experience of responsibility. With responsibility we will have a good future since the children are of the future. The children will then have no time to play and then can’t miss what they never had and will never think of what they will miss. They will work and wont asks for raises like the greedy adults. Lastly children are the best to use because their minds are fresh and will never forget anything. This is also giving young children early employment. I yield my time to the honorable chair.

    Questions and Answers:

    What is the issue?
The issue that we are debating on is “Should there be Child Labor?”

What is the problem with this issue?
Should there be Child Labor? Why or why not.

What should the UN do to solve this problem?
The UN shouldn’t ever have Child Labor.

Child Labor is forcing a child to do horrible tasks that can be harmful to their health is an awful crime. Child Labor forced kids to work instead of studying and learning in their education. Child Labor pay too less to people and make people really tried when they come back home again. The boss in factories lock kids in the factory to work and not let them go even when they are n great danger. Some people get hurt or/and died from Child Labor. They can never be rich for Child Labor. Paid low and work high. That’s why there should never be Child Labor.

    What the issue?
The issue is child labor. And if kids should or should not go for it

What’s the problem of the issue?
Kids should be able to work longs days and have to deal with the stress of money and supporting their family. They get low pay and work like dogs and still being treated like slaves.

    What should the UN do?
The UN should let the kids have less dangerous jobs and make there boss raise there pay up. And they should be fully involved because kids aren’t getting the respect they deserve. Even when there sacrificing there lives and working very hard to be disrespected.

  9. on December 5, 2008 at 10:33 am Stephen Collado Said:

Child labor should stop because children are brutally place in dangerous areas to work long hours to provide for their family. The United Nations should go to the countries were child labor occurs and stop it. They should give money to the families that put their kids in child labor so they wouldn’t have to provide for their family.

i think that htere should not be no child labor because there are kids getting hart, also there are girls that have a job as beggining a prostitute and also some of them die and can die off there job. also i think they instead of them woring at a young age they should be in school.thats what i think the modle un should stop this because they there educition more then they need money. for all that they should ave here parnets work not them.and just in case say if they move to new york city they need a good educition to get a good job in nyc.

The issue is about Child Labor.
The problem about this issue is that child labor isn’t good for children who are 5years+. They should either be learning at school or be playing outside with their friends.
I think that the Model United Nations should take the kids away from the owners who treat kids like slaves. I think they also should bring them to a safer place to live in.

Child labor is putting a child to work at a young age. Children should have time to be a child and play around and have an education. They shouldn’t grow up that fast. Its like they are in prison, they are locked inside worked until 5 am until midnight. The highest population of working children is in sub-Saharan Africa. One third of the children at age 14 and under are in labour force. 8.4 million Of children involved in armed conflicts has increased about 300,000 over the past decade. And 1.2 million children got brought/sold. The Model United Nation should build homes and support the children until they are sixteen
