Reconstruction
Discuss the following question:
Did Reconstruction (Freedmen’s Bureau, Sharecropping, Black Codes, and the 15th Amendment) move America towards its ideals (”All men are created equal”)?
Use specific evidence/examples from the readings that we’ve done.
If you aren’t sure about something, ask questions.
If you can answer someone’s question, do it.

Yes and no because some of the reading made it bad for example, The Ku Klux Klan began to harass all the african americans.
For the Freedmen’s Bureau, the answer is yes! America did moved toward their ideals! It had most of the things that are needed to help Blacks to survive even though they needed to paid for it! It is the Whites hard work, they should get some credit. The Freedmen’s Bureau provided food, shelter, first aid, work, etc.
yes becuse all blacks and whites can be and eat in the same restorants
yes it did move America towards its ideal because the freedmen s bureau helped build schools for African Americans.and that is definitely moving america towards its ideal/”all men are created equal.”
No, it did not move America towards its ideal because in sharecropping, after the war there was still slavery in some states and if you had a land of your own and you did not have enough money you couldn’t own the land.
Also with out money and land of their own, former slaves were forced to work for large landowners.
