Civil Rights: State of Louisiana Literacy Test

Here is a copy of the literacy test that we looked at in class:

This was used to deny African-Americans the right to vote because it was nearly impossible to pass this test.

Yes I think america did live up to its ideal. It live up to its ideal by ending slavery. They were fighting to end the war. They need their freedom.
