Document #4:

Translation of a leaflet (note) dropped on the Japanese, August 6, 1945 (day bomb was dropped on Hiroshima)

“TO THE JAPANESE PEOPLE:

America asks that you take immediate heed (notice) of what we say in this leaflet.

We are in possession of the most destructive explosice ever devised by man.  A single one of our newly developed atomic bombs is actually the equivalent in explostive power to what 2000 of our giant B-29s (planes) can carry on a single mission…

We have just begun to use this weapon against your homeland.  if you still have any doubt, make inquiry as to what happened to Hiroshima when just one atomic bomb fell on that city.

Before using this bomb to destroy every resource of [your] military… we ask that you now petition (ask) the Emporer to end the war…

Otherwise, we shall [use] this bomb and all our other superior weapons to promptly and forcefully end the war.

EVACUATE YOUR CITIES”

I think that President Truman made both a right and wrong decision. The right decision was using an atomic bomb ob Japab, but the wrong decision was the bombings of Hiroshima and another city. In order for the decisions to be right, Pres. Trumnan should’ve bombed not the cities, but the military bases and aircraft carriers containing the weapons and planes. If the bombs had hit the Military bases and the Aircraft carriers, the Japanese military would’ve been out of commission for quite a while; that way, that would’ve given the United States a chance to push forward in the war.

Caught a typo. Here’s the real one.

    Doucment #04

I think that Pres. Truman made both a right and wrong decision. The right decision was using the atomic bomb on Japan, but he should’ve bombed the most crucial parts of Japan:
    -Military bases
    -Aircraft carriers
    -Communication stations
    -supply lines
That way, the Japanese military, navy, and air force would’ve been out of order for some time, and therefore, given the United States a chance to push forward in the war.
