Geography of the Middle East

As we discuss the war in Iraq, it is very important that you understand where the country is located and what other countries surround it.  What is the importance of this region of the world, the Middle East, to the United States?

Here is a map of the Middle East:

    Imperialistic Americans

Imagine what it’s like to be injured with both arms broken-off, severely burned, and knowing that all your siblings and parents are dead. This is exactly what 12-year-old Iraqi boy Ali Ismail Abbas is going through. But he is not the only one who is suffering in Iraq. Some lost their faces with burned skin, some lost their eyes or other body parts, while others have to deal with the pain of losing a loved one. Or in the worse cases, they have died. There are many ways to see that the war in Iraq is an example of American Imperialism. Though some may disagree, the facts prove that it is. President Bush made the U.S. soldiers stay in Iraq for a long period of time to take advantage of the Iraqis and the U.S. has taken advantage of Iraqi resources.
One reason that proves the war in Iraq is American imperialism is that the U.S. soldiers have stayed in Iraq for five years already. President Bush sent U.S. soldiers to Iraq to search for illegal weapons. But in the article from TIME for Kids, it was mentioned that Saddam had already announced that they didn’t have any weapons. This means that the U.S. should have not attacked Iraq. Bush started the war also because he wanted to make sure that Iraq didn’t have any weapons, which means Iraq could lose power from that. This shows the reason U.S. is still staying in Iraq is because they are trying to take over Iraq.
Another example that shows that the United States was being imperialistic in its war with Iraq can be seen in the films Fahrenheit 9/11 and 21 Days to Baghdad, American businesses and soldiers have been protecting AND using Iraqi oil. The oil is in Iraq and the Iraqis own it. The U.S. does not have a right to do anything about it, because it is Iraq’s property, not the U.S.’s. It is clear that the U.S. is taking advantage of the situation in Iraq. These actions show that the U.S. involvement in Iraq is an example of Imperialism.
Some say that the war in Iraq is not an example of American Imperialism. A piece of evidence that they use to prove this is that according to film, 21 Days to Baghdad, President Bush is trying to protect the U.S. from Iraqi weapons, so that’s why he started the war. But according to the article “Confusion over Iraq’s Weapons,” from TIME for Kids, it states that although “Bush and many on his staff said that U.S. fact-finding groups, including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), had evidence of illegal weapons in Iraq, no such weapons have been found.” It is now 2008, and they still have not found one single weapon of mass destruction. The U.S. should have leave the country and stop the attacks. The fact that the U.S. has not left clearly shows that the U.S. is trying to take over the power from this country, therefore the war in Iraq is an example of American Imperialism.
Americans need to know that the war in Iraq is imperialism because the U.S. has stayed in Iraq already for five years to take advantage of Iraq by using its oil. And most of all, the Bush administration is trying to rip-off the Iraqi weapons and kill many innocent people. It is obvious that Bush is trying to take Iraq’s power away. Americans need to mind their own business and leave Iraq alone. Many Americans are blind and don’t really know or care about how imperialistic America is being. People need to know the truth about the Iraq War. It is time for all of us to know the reality and take actions to stop this war and the death of Americans and Iraqis.

Imagine you are sleeping in the middle of the night and then u hears bombs falling onto your city. And dust and smoke was all over the place. This shows that American with war in Iraq a way to show American imperialism because that American put camera inside Iraq to look over them. This shows imperialism because that the Iraqis have loss that freedom because that camera is like watching them every second. Bush also warned Hussein to leave his pace in 48 hour. This also shows imperialism because that Hussein has no choice but to leave his place.
One reason that the was in Iraq is a way to show is that for example American put camera inside Iraq to watch over them so make sure that they have no deadly weapons. But that just make the Iraqis lost their freedom. Imagine just like you was having your freedom but then someone was like spying on you. You will feel like you will lose your freedom. That is just the same thing as what American is doing to Iraq.
Another example that the war was a way to show imperialism is that Bush warned Hussein to leave his place in 48 hours. And Bush didn’t let Hussein have a choice but to leave his country because that if he don’t he, then Bush will start attacking them which bush already did. It is just like landlord come up to you and say that you have to leave your apartment in less then few days that you don’t even have a choice but you have to leave you apartment.
Some might think that the war in Iraq is an is not a way to show imperialism because they thought that Bush was just wanted to defend his country that is why he sent troops into Iraq to search for deadly weapons. Bush just sends troops in to search for weapons and they have taken over places in Iraq territory while the troops in Iraq search for weapons. Also that some Iraqis lost their home while to U.S. troops searching for weapons. Bush say he is looking for deadly weapons and send in troops in but, his main idea is to take over Iraq.
Bush wants Hussein to leave in 48 hours but, they have fired at them before 48 hours. Bush says he did this just for defense but, Bush really wanted to take over. Because he warns them to leave so then Bush troops can go in successfully and then take over in Iraq. Imagine that you were living peacefully in your home. And then you see some troops come and say you have to leave in a day. It is just the same as Bush warning Hussein to leave in 48 hours.
