    Bill Proposal on Quotas

An issue, a problem, we have to do something. Quotas are a racist act towards a specific race. Quotas limit the amount of a certain race and let other races in on a higher amount. (EX: The U.S shall allow 10,000 Chinese, 20,000 Japanese, etc.) My representative Patrick J. Kennedy is against this horrible act.
A problem with quotas is that it only allows a certain amount of people from races to enter. Immigrants will think of this as a racist act. Many immigrants wishing to come here will be disappointed, feel like they’re hated and un-wanted, and worst of all many will be sent back. In the time of 1925-1927 the annual immigrant quota was 164,667. This is very little concerning how many immigrants want to come in. Some immigrants come to America running from war, poverty, and to come here for freedom. With this act many will suffer. This problem will get out of hand if this act is passed.
The solution with the quota issue should be that we should have no quotas at all. We should have a system like first come first serve. If we let any amount of different immigrants come into the U.S the U.S would be overpopulated. If this act is passed many immigrants would feel like we hate them and that we are racist.
In conclusion, my representative Patrick J. Kennedy is totally against this act. It is racist, discriminating, and a mean act to pass. Many immigrants will be hurt and they will think we hate their race. Therefore, this act shouldn’t be passed.

I, Charles Rangel from New York, am for having general quotas. Having a quota keeps the U.S population at bay unless illegal immigrants come to U.S. A quota is the limit of immigrants that can come to the U.S from each country. Each country has a general quota and each country has an equal amount of immigrants come to the U.S. I believe this is going to benefit the U.S because if there were no quotas, immigrants would be pouring into the U.S. That would overpopulate the U.S and then there would be a shortage in jobs. This could lead to another Great Depression. Because we have quotas, the amount of people that come to the U.S is limited and the U.S doesn’t get overpopulated. Illegal immigrants leave their country to get money to support his/her family, but then they leave so that makes the population smaller once in a while. Of course they will come back someday to get more money.
Countries like China have a very large population, and they come in waves. They immigrate from China and only because of one reason. They come here because of communism and that makes tons of Chinese immigrants come to the U.S. because they want to have religious freedom. The Chinese are one of the reasons to have quotas because they might overpopulate the U.S.
We should also have quotas because in addition to Asia there are also other countries. I understand that many want to go to the U.S, but there is limited space. We may be the country of hope, but we can keep taking in immigrants. Sooner or later the U.S will run out of space for other people. We have to stop making immigrants come at such a large rate.
The immigrants will keep coming because of communism and there are many countries that have communism. At some point of the U.S history, we will have to stop immigrants form coming. We might have to close all openings to the U.S because there will be many immigrants tying to come. At this rate, we will overpopulate.
In conclusion, there are many solutions to the quota problem. We can have quotas, but there can also be a limited amount of workers form other countries and they can stay for some time. We could allow immigrants to come with a limit and if there are too many, we can send them to another country where their religion is allowed. These are some of the many solutions. Quotas can benefit and there and immigrants benefit to the U.S too. Unfortunately we can’t have that much immigrants.

There are terrorists coming to the US as immigrants from Mexico. They come illegally and it needs to stop. How should we stop it? I, Jo Ann Emerson, say we build a wall along the border of Mexico. There are a lot of reasons why we should build the wall.
One reason is that we should build a wall is that many Mexicans come to the US illegally and they could be terrorists. Having terrorists in the US can make something like 9/11 happen again. It will be disastrous for the US citizens if it happens. This is one reason why we should build a wall along the border of Mexico.
Another reason why we should build a wall is that the US will overpopulate if the Mexicans keep coming in to the US illegally. Having too many people in the US can cause global warming and a lot of injuries. The Mexicans will take the jobs of an American when they come. When there are a lot of Mexicans in the US, then there will be no jobs for the Americans. It won’t be fair for the Americans so this is another reason why we should build a wall along the border of Mexico.
I think that the best solution to all of this is to go along with border security and build a wall along the border Mexico. Having this wall will secure the US with less Mexicans. It will keep the Americans with jobs without worrying that Mexicans will come illegally and take their jobs. It will also keep terrorists from Mexico out of the US so that nothing like 9/11 will happen again.

U.S. government is discussing to whether to build a giant wall along the Mexican border. Many of the Congress members have thought to agree with this idea. They think that if they do build a great wall along the Mexican border it will stop illegal immigrants from Mexico to stop coming. This is important to our country because the choice of building the wall can affect our country. Bases on statistics 1,954 (1998-2004, 87 deaths in 1996, 149 in 1997, 329 in 1998, 358 in 1999 and 499 in 2000) people died trying to get into the U.S. illegally. Then in 2005 over 500 people died trying to cross the Mexican border. If we build a wall the number of illegal immigrant’s deaths will increase. I, Steny Hoyer representative of the state of Maryland think that this is wrong.
The problem is the number of illegal immigrants coming to America and stopping it by putting a wall along the Mexican border. Building a wall along the will not also disrespect the Mexicans, this will also degrade America. If we build the wall it shows that Americans don’t care about Mexicans and we are cold hearted not to let Mexicans have a chance of getting wealth or having freedom. This problem needs to be solved because if we don’t start doing something about illegal immigrants the population of the U.S will rocket like crazy but in my opinion building a way is not the way to solve the answer.
I would say we make the immigration process easier for all. I see places where the rich class gets to get into America quickly and 3x the speed of the lower class. Why not make it easier for all immigrants? Why is it only easy for the higher class? I say this is discriminating against the levels of class. If we make it easier people who have to die coming here illegally. Also if the immigration policy was easier people could bring themselves and not only themselves, the whole family. We will still have the medical check and the regular stuff. We could lower the education requirement because people can come into the U.S. and learn. If we do this and allow Mexicans to come with the lower immigration process our economy level can boost up.
In conclusion building a wall along the Mexican border is wrong. It degrades us all and makes other people feel bad. This is important for the U.S. because this gives chances for people who didn’t taste freedom, who didn’t have a chance of supporting their family and most important the chance of success. So I suggest you to think about this.

    Drafting a Bill
    1) Problem: Illegal Immigration/ Illegal workers
    2) Evidence:
    • Many people com into US temporarily to work without documentation>unsafe
    • Americans are hiring undocumented workers and getting in trouble
    • There are jobs that Americans don’t want to do

    3) Solution: Guest Worker Program- allow people from other countries (i.e. Mexico) to come to US for 6 months-1 year to do menial jobs

Issue: Amnesty-(Forgiveness): The United States should give illegal immigrants already in the US a way to get citizenship.

This issue states that illegal immigrants should get a second chance. It’s not fair to people who came legally because they think that illegal people who come here that gets citizenship might think that the US is giving into them coming through the border. Also the population of the USA will grow rapidly each day if this keeps happening. Many of the representatives want reduction of immigrants so the population will stop increasing. I think that illegal immigrants in the USA should be sent back to their own countries unless they have legal papers stating that they can enter.

Issue: Immigration Requirements- All immigrants wishing to come to the US must have certain educational requirements (i.e. be able to write and read in a language, have a college degree, etc.) in order to be allowed in.

This issue states that only educated immigrants can enter. I think that this should be upheld because it’s the fairest way to become a US citizen. Also people might enter illegally causing some people to enter without any education. People should only enter with education because they can only get money. I think that this is fair because many illegal immigrants that enter the USA have no education, so what’s the point of coming if you can’t say anything in another language. So I think that this is only fair to immigrants. If they want to enter the USA, they must have a good education and be educated.

Issue: Quotas (Limits): The United States should set limits on the number of immigrants who come to this country.

This bill states that USA should set limits on the number of immigrants who come to the country. I think that this should be set because too much immigrants mean the population of the USA will increase rapidly each month. Having too much immigrants mean that there should be more jobs opening and more buildings being built for them. Also it means that illegal immigrants can sneak through the crowds to enter the USA. It is unsafe for them. I think that this should be upheld and set.

    Below is the bill:

    Bill on Quotas

We, representatives Charles Pickering Jr. and Thomas Petri, representing Mississippi and Wisconsin, are going to talk about a bill that should be turned into a law.
The United States population is growing. There are too much immigrants coming to this country. Many illegal immigrants are coming without a document. This is unfair to the legal citizens. The government is losing lot of money because of these illegal immigrants and because of the immigrants who are over population the country. We need a Law for this because the U.S. population is out of control.
The problem is that some people are against setting a limit to the number of people coming to the USA. This issue needs to be decided and a side must be chosen. I am for this, because there are too many people in the USA. I don’t think that the USA is big enough to fit every single person around the world that wants to come to the USA and the more immigrants there is, the more money the government lose.
How I would like to solve the problem is that I would like you all to agree with this bill, setting a limit on the number of people that are coming to the USA. If this is not persuasive enough for you, think about what will happen in the future when there are not much land to build buildings and streets overcrowded. Would you like this to happen? If not, then there should be a limit to all this immigration happening.
This is important because if no body does anything about this, then the population will increase rapidly each day, month and year until immigration gets out of control. Please agree with us that the United States should set limits on the number of immigrants who comes to the country. Thus, there will be less immigrants coming to the U.S. each year. The U.S, population will not be over flowing. The government will be saving more money.

I Peter T. King of New York and Sensenbrenner Jr. F. James of Wisconsin believe that building a wall along the Mexican border is the correct thing to do. My hopes are that within 18 months, we achieve operational control over U.S. land and marine borders. Including systematic border surveillance through a better use of staff and technology and physical infrastructure to stop unlawful border entry from happing. Do you know what there are illegal Mexicans trying to jump the U.S border every 42 seconds?
There are way too many illegal Mexicans in the United States Also their numbers have been increasing everyday. It is unsafe to not know who is in our country. Who don’t know if they can be terrorist and no one wants to have another 9/11 to happen. Also the illegal Mexicans took advantage of our services such as schools. They are using it for free, and this hurts our economy. Because the money the government pays for these services came from the taxes the people paid. These illegal aliens do not pay the taxes and uses these services.
Gig Conaughton , reporter for the North County Times, Escondido, California, wrote, “A county-commissioned study estimated that illegal immigrants directly cost the county of San Diego and taxpayers $101 million last year, and indirectly cost an additional $155 million in unpaid medical care. Public school costs and a myriad of social-services increase the actual costs, but are not included in the count.” Illegal migrants cost the county roughly $75 million in criminal justice costs, such as jailing, prosecuting and public defender efforts.
In conclusion my solution about this problem is to build a tall wall along the Mexican border. Walls do not have holes like our current fences have. The illegal Mexicans have been using these holes to slip pass our fences. Also tall stone walls are way harder to climb than just fences. I believe this is the only solution we have left. If this is not stop, our economy systems will be in trouble.

The Requirements for becoming a Legal Immigrant

The requirements to become a legal immigrant should be a test about the U.S economy and the U.S language. This should help because it would prepare the immigrants for their lives as U.S citizen. The requirements on becoming a U.S citizen are good for the U.S because if an immigrant comes to the U.S and knows nothing about it, they probably don’t even want to go to the U.S. This could benefit to the U.S economy because we would have people that really knew what they were doing. This could also help with the population problem of having illegal immigrants or legal immigrants that come to the U.S. My representative, Mr. Rangel, thinks this is good because when people take the test, you can really tell if they want to come because they’ll study and they’ll probably get a good grade. If they get a good grade in the test, you’ll know they’ll know what to do when they go to a state and get a job. Mr. Rangel would probably want the immigrants to take the test the day after they come.

    The Great Wall of Mexico

The Great Wall of Mexico will be the wall that covers the border of Mexico. Mexicans can’t cross the border because the border will block them from crossing the border. When they do come, we will arrest them and put them in jail cells. After that we will bring them back tot their homes. Mr. Rangel would want this because instead of leaving them in the jail cells, we can send them back home. That way they won’t die. All they want to get a better life. This is the solution to illegal Mexican immigrants. As for the other races, we have to make another idea.

    Quotas

Quotas on the amount of immigrants that come from different countries basically demands there should be a limit of immigrants form each country. This is true because some countries have more than another. If you make a large quota for a small country, they might have less than that amount. That’s okay, but if it’s a large country, you’ll have a lot of immigrants. My representative, Charles Rangel, probably agrees with this because he knows that the U.S has a big population. After we have a large quota for all the countries, the U.S will be overpopulated. Evidence is that many Chinese come here because of communism. This is good proof that many are willing to come here.

    Outline:
    Problem:
    Evidence:
    Solution:

    Problem: Quotas
Evidence: Immigration has been a problem to the USA. Like if you put a limit for the immigrants then it will not be fair. Since some area more immigrants will come. If there was a limit there might be families together and maybe when the limit stops then all the families would be split up and you have to wait a year or more. If more of a kind comes to the USA then they would over populate the USA and may take over it too. Not all the kinds have fair laws. Some have better laws and some have bad laws.
Solution: The best way to make it fair is for not any immigrants to come. If they come then more and more will come. Also if you bring to many immigrants come there might be another 911. Another 911 means more people dying and a lot of jobs lost.

    Problem: Family Separation
Evidence: People get separated from there family. Like Mexicans the man of the house has to leave to the US just to support the family. If they try to sneak to America it is very risky because if you get caught and if you have a criminal record then you go to jail. But if you get caught and you don’t have a criminal record and then you just get send back to your country. So don’t take the risk and just stay where you are.
Solution: All the people who want to come to the USA don’t try to sneak in just come in fairly and then become citizens. It is not even hard just come to the US. You just show your passport and then take the health test if you pass then you live in the US and wait until you get your citizenship.

    Problem: Border Patrol
Evidence: People everyday try to cross the Mexican border and some get caught and some get lucky and they go to the USA. About a year there are more than 400000 immigrants coming to the USA. People try to come and then if they get caught they either go to jail or get sent back to Mexico.
Solution: The solution of making the Mexican stop coming is to build a big border and then it will stop them.

    Bill Proposal

Did you know more than 4,000 immigrants illegally immigrate to America everyday? One of the hottest spots for illegal immigration is the US-Mexico border. Already 25,000 or more Mexicans have crossed the border into the United States. Besides the fact that illegal immigration is a crime, another big issue is produced by illegal immigration and that is money disappearing from the United States economy.
Everyday, at least 4.000 undocumented illegal aliens cross the US-Mexico border. Almost all of them are looking for jobs to feed their families and themselves. They would bounce around in the United States looking for job openings. Once they get a job, they work for a certain amount of time, for example, a year, or until they have enough money and then they travel back to Mexico. If 4,000 illegal aliens work in open jobs for $400 a week in a year, then that’s $83.2 million off of our economy along with pension plans and Medicare. The Border Patrol is trying hard to stop illegal aliens from crossing the border.
Although, the Border Patrol is stopping illegal immigrants from crossing the border, some still get through. Advanced and state-of-the-art technologies would help the Border Patrol with their job. However, production and training of this equipment would take money. Therefore, I, Ohio Representative, John Boehner, propose a bill allowing the Border Patrol to receive $1 billion to fund the training of officers and upgraded equipment. These funds will help generate more personnel to man our country’s border and produce equipment and sensors to track illegal immigrants entering the country and as well as discover ways that illegal immigrants can enter the country and shut them down to benefit the United States of America.

    Drafting a Bill #1
They should allow illegal immigrants already in the U.S to get legal papers. It is unsafe for illegal immigrants to come here without legal papers.
They cannot do legal things that most legal people in the U.S can do. Like legal check ups when they get sick. This could cause more new diseases to come into the United States since we don’t know what diseases they had when they came to the U.S. Illegal immigrants also worry everyday that they might get caught and get sent back to their countries.
They should give illegal immigrants already in the U.S a way to get citizenship. This would cause less worry for the immigrants, less unknown diseases in the U.S, and more ways for immigrants to get jobs and things that legal people in the United States can do.

    Drafting Bill #2

They should make it easier for immigrants already in the United States to have their children and spouses come here. It is not fair for them to wait. They have to wait a long time.
Legal immigrants already in the U.S miss their families. They came here for a better life with their families. Legal immigrants wait for 5-10 years (possibly more) for their families to come to America nowadays.
They should make it easier for legal immigrants already in the U.S to bring their families over so that the immigrants would not be sad or lonely while waiting for their family to come.

    Drafting Bill #3

They should not make a fence or wall along the border of Mexico. This would cause a lot of disappointment to people that want to come here and it is discrimination.

They might find another way to get through the wall or fence and might cause violence in the U.S because they’re mad at the fact we blocked them out. It is racist.

We need to find another way to solve this maybe we could give them temporary things to do in the U.S so they could earn money to bring back home and support their families.

    Final Draft

The United States should not build a large fence or wall along the border of Mexico. As Diana Degette, I think that it is important to not do so because it isn’t fair for Mexicans. They have started to come to the United States since around the 1940s-1950s, they came here because they wanted a better life and to escape war. We should not block them out, we’ve helped them out in the past.
The problem is that the United States wants to build a fence or wall along the border of Mexico. We cannot just sit down and just let them do this. It needs to be solved because if they build that fence then we might be accused of discrimination.
In order to solve this problem, we need to try to convince the people not to build a fence along the border of Mexico. Building a fence along the Mexican border is useless, it would not totally stop all illegal immigration and it costs $2 billion dollars. Maybe we can let anyone who goes from the Mexican border to the U.S have temporary jobs so that they can send money back home to their families.
This is important because we don’t really need to keep them out of the U.S, if they weren’t in the United States, a lot of things would be different. We would have a lot of jobs that a lot of people don’t want here. So therefore, it slows a lot of things down. By building a fence along Mexico’s border, it would only cause more illegal immigration because they’d find more ways to come here illegally and they would want to come here even more. It might also damage the environment by building it. We should find another way to solve illegal immigration.

    Erica, Lisa, and Wendy

We, Representatives Sue Myrick of North Carolina, Thelma Drake of Virginia, and Janice Schakowsky of Illinois, believe that there should be quotas for people immigrating to the U.S. because our population is becoming excessively large. We are afraid that because of such a massive population, not everyone will be able to live a stable life with good homes and jobs.
Many people come to the U.S. in search of jobs, a home, and better economic possibilities. Other immigrants also come for a short period of time to earn enough money to live off of back in their homeland. But sometimes when they are expected to leave, they stay to build families. This is a problem because immigrants who stay instead of going home encourage other immigrants (possibly illegal ones) to come too. (Family, Friends etc.)
However, the main problems are that if more immigrants immigrate to the U.S., it could cause pollution, insufficient jobs/homes, and many places would be overcrowded. Coming to the U.S. is everyone’s dream, but if it causes pollution, their dreams will turn into nightmares. Pollution is a very serious problem. Human population growth is the root of our Earth’s environmental problems. This means that if the population of people increases, crowding generates pollution, destroys more habitats, and uses up additional natural resources.
There is a way to solve this problem though; the solution to this problem is that we should set a limit of how many immigrants from each country are allowed into the U.S. This is probably the best and only solution. If the congress does not agree to set quotas, our population will be out of control and we will not have enough space for everyone to have a home, a job, and a happy life.

    Final Draft: Border Security

Each year there are several hundred immigrant deaths along the U.S. Mexico border. The number of deaths has steadily increased since the middle 1990s. According to the U.S. Border Patrol, 1,954 people died crossing the United States Mexico border between the years 1998-2004. In the fiscal year ending September 29, 2004, 460 migrants died crossing the U.S. Mexico border. In 2005, more than 500 died across the entire U.S. Mexico border. The number of yearly border crossing deaths has doubled since 1995. The major U.S. immigration laws passed changed the U.S. These laws are going against the new comers and made it harder for them to enter U.S. The United States shouldn’t build a large fence or wall along the border with Mexico. It defines the operational control as the prevention of all unlawful U.S. entries, including entries by terrorists and other unlawful immigrants. I, speaker Pelosi of California thinks it is insulting to have this action taken place going against the immigrants. I have always been a supporter of rights for immigrants in the U.S., including those who enter illegally.
I voted against the Secure Fence Act of 2006 since this act is one part of an immigration reform that President George W. Bush has planned for the future. The act allows for over 700 miles of double-reinforced (strengthen) fence to be built across cities and deserts alike between California and Te*as in areas that have been prone (dispose) to illegal drug trafficking and illegal immigration. Proponents support voting YES because it is obvious there is no more defining issue in our Nation today than stopping illegal immigration. The most basic obligation (duty) of any government is to secure the Nation’s borders.
Many immigrants were facing the danger of death. Some were getting kicked out of their country because of their color, some for starvation, and most came because of a hard time in home, hard to find a job, so there’s no money to support the family. But entering the U.S. is harder than they had expected. If the large fence or wall is built along the border with Mexico, immigrants will be sent back if they get caught. Death is brought to them when climbing the large fence or wall…
I suggest no large fence or wall is built along the border with Mexico. I think the U.S. need to secure the Nation’s borders by paying more expense to hire more guard and not building a large fence or wall. That way, new comers can still enter the U.S. and also less sight of death and on the other hand, our Nation’s border is still secure.
This is very important because the immigrants believe that coming to America is a right choice because they can find a better life here. They believe that America is a free country that’s why they come but if a large fence or wall is there to block them, then they will have to go back to their country. People died going over the fence or wall. So I think the United States shouldn’t build a large fence or wall along the border with Mexico because if it involves death, then coming to America is not hope but puts an end to them.

I am Thaddeus McCotter am a Republican from Michigan. One of the big issues in the world right now is immigration. To be more specific is Quotas. This is a big issue to immigration because if we don’t set a limit for the immigrants then more and more immigrants will come to the US every year. More than 55% of the immigrants that come to the US are from Mexico. Also if we just let the immigrants come in again then there might be another 911 and we don’t want that to happen because people die and jobs are lost.
His problem about quotas is that people take advantage of it and more immigrants come in each year. We need to do something about this because if there was no limit then the USA will be over populated and there will be more of a chance of a curtain kind taking over the world. For example black people there are a lot of them there and they can take over the world of more and more people come. Even if they try to come it is in a high risked that they would die because in all the condition that they have to go through it is hard. People from Tibet have to go to a certain area like Italy. They have to walk to Italy and there are mountain and icebergs when you walk there. It also takes a long time. Wouldn’t it be better if there were less people in the USA? You will have less people in the US and it won’t be as populated and less people will have disease because there won’t be any one coming the US with new disease.
To solve this problem is to just pass the law so that immigrants will be a limit to the USA. If we can put a limit each year then we are all good on controlling the immigration policy and then we can have no problem on immigrants. If you solve this problem then there would be less people to come to the USA and try to murder the president or try to destroy the area.
So this is your representative stop the immigrants from coming so that the USA wont be as populated as it is now. More people come means need more resources and more area taken. The less people there are here, means the less resources need and the less space it takes. When it means fewer spaces it means more space to grow plants so global warming won’t happen.

We have realized now that immigration is a problem.
Well representative Maxine waters from California and myself, Sheila Jackson Lee from Te*as district 18 think that immigration should not be with held. Dreams and freedom should not be with held also.
This is bill number H.R. 2135
That we will be presenting to you all.

Did you know that 37.9 million legal and illegal immigrants are now in the U.S.? if you need to track them down, that would take forever. It is also unfair being kicked out of the place you love and need to be in.
Although many immigrants are here and it is unfair for them to still be able to be here, since they don’t have proper documents, finding people ALL around the U.S. will take forever especially if they can hide.
I do recognize that they made a mistake by coming here as illegal immigrants, but don’t we all make mistakes, all they want is just freedom. They just want to have a better life here and help to support their families. Some of them come here to do the work that we don’t want to do. So let’s say that they get hurt while doing the work we didn’t want to do. If they get hurt, then who is going to do the work for us?

So my solution is that if we do find an illegal immigrant in a hospital or school, we should just try to help them out and tell them to become legal immigrants. We will all have a way in this if we just work this out.

We can just solve this problem by giving all the people already in here a chance so they don’t need to be forced out. They can be here, but they must not do illegal things.

    ———————————-

    Drafting a Bill #3

Immigrants in the U.S. deserve a chance to live life.

There are already 37.9million legal and illegal immigrants here already. Tracking all of them down will be pointless so why bother? We should just give them all a chance. They can just get their documents in here. We can take a break from tracking them down. So now we can just worry about them coming in again, and not just worry about taking them out.
Coming here means that they needed to come here so why throw them out? Everybody deserves a second chance in life, and they do too, illegal or legal.

For all the legal immigrants who think it is unfair, we can just thank them for following the rules and give them a break too. They can be known for being legal so nobody would yell at them.

    ———————————

    Drafting a Bill #2

Private Border Patrol: We should not have U.S. citizens to voluntarily be a part of the border patrol because they can be prejudice against the immigrants’ races, or they dislike illegal immigrants overall. We should have the government do that. It is their job.

If people are prejudice against immigrants, they could possibly be shooting certain people depending on what race they are. They can make others feel unwanted and then a war can start out. That is not good because many people from our country will die and that is a deduction in money and population. Many people will be devastated too.

    Draft: Border Security

It doesn’t define the operational control as the prevention of all unlawful U.S. entries, including entries by terrorists and other unlawful immigrants. I, speaker Pelosi of California thinks it is insulting to have this action taken place going against the immigrants. I have always been a supporter of rights for immigrants in the U.S., including those who enter illegally.

However, he voted yes for bills creating more visas for highly skilled workers.

Recommendation for change: Visas used for highly skilled workers can be used to help vie for citizenship, as proof of being highly skilled, if the worker has been in his/her skill for a certain period of time.

    Evidence:

    Draft: Amnesty

I, speaker Pelosi of California, think that the U.S. should give amnesty (forgiveness). The U.S. should give illegal immigrants already in the U.S. a way to get citizenship because many people in the U.S. are working without documentation which make them feel unsafe. This is important because if they get their citizenship, they don’t have to be afraid to get reported to the police and get sent back to their home country.
Many people came to U.S. and hope that they get a citizen even if they can illegally because they without citizenship, they can get catch any minute and get sent back home and out of the U.S. After becoming a citizen, they then don’t have to worry about their future in America because they have an approval to stay in the U.S.
I think that a way to solve this problem is to give the immigrants already in the U.S. a way to get citizenship because since they had made their way to the U.S., they should be forgive and be able to get their citizenship that I strongly believe they deserve. They can them work and do jobs the Americans don’t do. There can also be a limit of 5 years the immigrants can stay in the U.S. and that the citizenship they have only gives a permission of 5 year being a citizen. When the time is up, they will have to get sent home since they their citizenship is over which means the document that proves they are a citizen is expired.
As a result, no matter what color you are, you all get the same limit of time being a citizen. This is important because same limit of time is being fair and being racism is a huge problem. If the illegal immigrants don’t get a citizen and got sent back to their country, jobs the illegal immigrants were doing will be empty since the Americans won’t do jobs the immigrants do.

    Draft: Quotas (setting limits)

Historically, the U.S. banned the Chinese immigration and eligibility for citizenship for 10 years. The first quotas of 1921 limited the number of immigrants from any country to 3 percent of the foreign-born people in the U.S. in 1910. The U.S. shouldn’t set different limits for immigrants coming from different regions of the world because quotas (limits) in the U.S. are being racists. In example, the first quotas of 1921 provided large immigrant quotas for Northern Europe and small quotas for Southern and Eastern Europe. People from different regions have different color. Limits are set unequally for the amount of people that can enter the U.S. from different country. Another example is 10,000 a year from China, 4,000 a year from the Dominican Republic, 40,000 a year from European countries, etc. It is insulting to have limits in the U.S.
I, speaker Pelosi of California think that racism isn’t tolerated because everyone is equal. It isn’t fair for people from other country to have smaller limits just because they have smaller amount of people in their country. If this bill isn’t being fair, people from country that have smaller limits will complain about it and they will get together and fight for their country limits.
I think in order to solve this racism, I suggest to have no limits. If no limits can’t be set for immigrants coming from different regions of the world, then at least have the same limits. This way people will not be complaining about other country’s limit. I don’t want the immigrants to misunderstood the action of the U.S. government.
This is so important that I strongly think that the U.S. shouldn’t set different limits for immigrants coming from different regions of the world. Being racism can cause a lot of affects towards U.S. Immigrants who aren’t happy will stop paying taxes and some will just leave America. This will just left the jobs empty and less money.

    Evidence:
    • Since there are so many people coming in to work.
    • Immigrants use services of citizens
    • That is illegal cause it’s unfair
    • Plus then immigrants will do things like robbery and bank robbery

Solution: The solution that can solve the things are before they cross over let people stand in their way and give them tests to get their citizenship. So that’s the kind of solution that I had thought of or they should just pay for their citizenship for a fair price.

Problem: The Untied States are thinking of building a large fence of wall along the border of Mexico.

    Evidence:
    • The Mexicans are coming to America too much cause there is a greatly amount of Mexicans coming out here
    • That’s why because they are the ones that used up the citizenship.
    • Everywhere one the street you can see Mexicans.

Solution: Since making a wall would be so cruel because it acts like a prison to the Mexicans. So the solution is that it should not make a wall but have like a patrol of cops driving around to stop them from coming to America, like a safety patrol. This is the best solution out to substitute the wall or the fence.

An issue, a problem, we have to do something. Quotas are a racist act towards a specific race. Quotas limit the amount of a certain race and let other races in on a higher amount. (EX: The U.S shall allow 10,000 Chinese, 20,000 Japanese, etc.) I, Mazie Hirono am against this horrible act.
A problem with quotas is that it only allows a certain amount of people from races to enter. Immigrants will think of this as a racist act. Many immigrants wishing to come here will be disappointed, feel like they’re hated and unwanted, and worst of all many will be sent back. Some immigrants come to America running from war, poverty, and come here for freedom. With this act many will suffer. This problem will get out of hand if this act is passed.
The solution with quotas is that it shouldn’t allow a certain amount of people from races to come to this country. Immigrants who want to come to this country can come. If this act doesn’t pass, many immigrants that want to come to this country will be happy and won’t feel hated.
In conclusion, I, Mazie Hirono am against this act. There are problems with this act and lots of immigrants won’t be happy about this. Lots of immigrants want to come to this country and they couldn’t come because of this act.

    Drafts~

A problem is that the U.S. is setting limits on the number of immigrants who are coming to this country. If the U.S. set a limit, immigrants who want to come here won’t be able to come. Immigrants won’t be happy about setting a limit because some immigrants really want to come here even. The U.S. shouldn’t set limits on the number of immigrants who came to this country.

A problem is reporting and deporting illegal immigrants. People wouldn’t be getting a second chance if they get reported and it’s not fair when they get reported the first time without giving them a second chance. Immigrants would feel unwanted if they weren’t given a second chance.

A problem is building a wall along the border of Mexico. If a wall is built, immigrants would be disappointed and problems can happen. I think there should be a way to solve this problem.

My name is John Shimkus. One problem is that terrorists from Mexico are coming to the U.S illegally. What do you think we should do to stop these terrorists? I suggest we build a wall around Mexico to stop them for entering.
There are a lot of reasons I think we should build a wall. The first reason is that after 9-11, one person came to the United State illegal and he wasn’t an immigrant, he was a terrorist who blew up the World Trade Center. More than 100 of people died, because of that one terrorist. If we didn’t build a wall, a terrorist can come to the U.S. and blow something up again. Think of the lives that will die if that happens again. This is one of the reasons why we should build a wall.
The second reason is that the U.S. will be over populated. If the U.S. is over populate, people in the U.S. will get injury. Also if it is over populate, the government and citizens won’t have time to build factories and houses for them. Will you like that if the U.S. got over populate? I wouldn’t because every people in the U.S. came here for something and it is not to get hurt. This is the second reason why we should build a wall.
The finally reason for border security is that illegal immigrant can come to the U.S. illegal. The reason that illegal immigrant is the pull factors. Some pull factors are jobs, houses and education. If immigrants can’t come to the U.S. because the government won’t let them, they will come here illegally. Research says about 4-12 million come to the U.S illegal because of the pull factors and some of the push factors.
In conclusion, this is why there should be a wall around Mexico. If you heard my reasons, then maybe you can agree to my idea. I hope you do so the people of the United State can live peacefully. If you want to stop illegal immigrant and terrorists, then we should build a wall because we don’t know what they will do to our country. I think the best solution is to build the border along Mexico because a lot immigrant might come from there but I think Banta has a good idea to build barb wire and electric because a lot of immigrant from Mexico will not give up to come so we must make them give up because America cost more than the wall. If Mexican kills America then America won’t have anything left.

I have to discuss this issue. It is quotas. It means that there should be a limit to number of immigrant from different country. I personally agree to this issue and this is why.
The first reason is that a lot of immigrants want to come the US. If there are a lot of people, then the U.S. will be over populating. I think if the U.S is over populated then people will get hurt. The only reason that the U.S. will be over populate is because immigrants want jobs to support there their family. If the U.S have different jobs for immigrants, then what should we do to stop them?
The second reason we should set limit and stop them from over populate the U.S. is to have freedoms. Why should a lot of immigrant come because they want freedom? Immigrants should think of other first because if freedom, if what they want, what will the other people get? If there was a limit almost immigrant get a little bit of freedom. Freedom allow immigrant have rights and let them do whatever they what but they still get boss a little.
The third reason is that we should set limit is the push factor. This factor is a bad thing. If their country is bad, it does not mean that they can come to the U.S. and a lot of immigrants did that. Why should all people in their country come because their country is bad. I think if all people came, there will be injures. That’s why we need limits to stop them from over populating the United State.
In conclusion this is why I agree to the quotas or limit. If you read my reason maybe you will agree to me. I think we can solve this issue but what do you think? I think if there is different limit in different country maybe the first limits come on one day and then the next week, they can come again because that way we will be ready for houses.

I, John Shimkus would like to discuss another issue. It is the guest worker program. This program allow immigrant from different countries come to the United States and work when American don’t want to but after immigrant are done, they are force to leave. I personally against this issue and this is why.
The first reason is that I agree with the border issue. If I agree to the border issue, then why would I allow immigrant to come here. Another representative also agrees with me and she is Jo Ann. Jo Ann thinks immigrant shouldn’t work here because the border prevents them from coming to the U.S.
The second reason is that the United State will be over populated. I think if the U.S. is over populated, it will be bad because people will get injury. The government won’t have even houses or factories for those who want to stay here. The issue of the guest worker program is making the United State over populate.
The last reason is that I’m against the guest worker program is because maybe immigrant didn’t have the education. If they didn’t have education, then why should they work here? Immigrants can hurt themselves while working. Beside of coming here illegally and over populating the U.S, immigrant will hurt themselves.
In conclusion, this is why I am against the guest worker program. I do not want immigrant to hurt themselves, over populating the U.S. and coming here illegally and get a job, which they will not work full time. One solution is that if immigrants wants job in the U.S. ask the government and let the government decide because he might know the best for them.

Cause I think it’s very cruel to think about creating or building something like that along a border. Cause won’t the Mexicans feel like criminals and the wall along the border will feel like it’s trapping them as a prison. I also think that there shouldn’t be that much people because there is way too much people and then it will be crowded. A representative named Maxine Walters disagree about it cause she says the more people the merryer. But it’s just too much people here already. Plus another issue is that people who wantd to immigrate here needed to know how to read, speak, and know a language. To me that is an absolute Yes cause people who come here without being educated. The US is also getting overpopulated by Mexicans. We must prevent this from happening by building a wall along the Mexico border.

    1) Problem: There are jobs that many people don’t want to do in the US and there are illegal immigrants that need jobs.
    2) Evidence: There are multiple jobs open and no ones taking them. There are illegal immigrants working in the US for money.
    3) Solution: Guest Worker Program- allow the immigrants that want jobs to temporarily take the jobs that the Americans don’t want so that the US won’t lose money and the immigrants will get money too.

    Bill Draft #3

    1) Problem: There isn’t a limited amount of immigrants coming to the U.S.
    2) Evidence: There are more and more illegal immigrants coming to U.S. each day. More illegal immigrants are found in the U.S.
    3) Solution: Quotas (Limits) – set a limit on the number of immigrant that comes to the U.S.

    Final Bill Proposal

There might be terrorists coming from Mexico to the US as illegal immigrants. How can we stop them from coming? I, Carolyn McCarthy think that we should make a wall along the Mexico border to keep them away from entering the US. There are many reasons why we should build a wall.
One reason is 9/11; terrorists came into the US and killed many people. We do not want happen again. Some Mexicans can come into the US as illegal immigrants but are really terrorists. We cannot allow this to happen because it might turn out worse than 9/11. If we had a wall along the border of Mexico then no Mexicans will get into the US and the US will be safe from Mexican illegal immigrants that might be terrorists in disguise.
Another reason is if we let the Mexicans cross the border then the US will become overpopulated. If the US becomes overpopulated then the US will have less open jobs for the Americans then the Americans will not be able make money because most of the jobs will be taken by the Mexicans. To keep US from get overpopulated we need to build a wall along the Mexico border.
There are many reasons why we should build a wall along the Mexico border. One reason is so that terrorist will not invade the US from Mexico. Another reason is so that the US won’t get overpopulated by Mexicans. We should build a wall along the Mexico border.

We, Representatives Sue Myrick from North Carolina, Thelma Drake from Virginia, and Janice Schakowsky from Illinois, believe that there should be quotas for people immigrating to the U.S. because our population is becoming excessively huge. We are afraid that because of such a large population, not everyone will be able to live a stable life with a good home and job. Many people come to the U.S. in search of jobs, a home, and better economics. Many people come to the U.S. temporarily to earn sufficient money to go home or they just stay in the U.S. and more people just barge in to the U.S.
This is the problem; if more people immigrate into the U.S. it can cause pollution, insufficient jobs or homes, and the places will be overcrowded. Coming to the U.S. is everybody’s dream, but if it because pollution it will not be a good picture of the dream. Pollution is a really serious problem. Human population growth is at the root of virtually all of the world’s environmental problems. That means that if the population people increases, crowding generates pollution, destroys more habitats, and uses up additional natural resources.
But there is a way to solve this problem. The solution to this problem is that we should set a limit of how many inhabitants coming to the U.S. from each state/country around the world. This is like the only solution if all of you don’t set quotas, our population will be out of control and we will not have enough space for everyone to have a home and a job. (Not everyone will be able to live a stable life).

Border Security: Building a wall along the Mexico border.
    Georgia: Representative John Lewis

I representative John Lewis believe it is such a disappointment to see many representatives stated that building a giant wall between the U.S. and Mexico border, putting extra security to limit the number of Mexico immigrants.

The problem of border security along Mexico is reducing the numbers of Mexico immigrants, illegal and legal. I know for a fact that border security not to let U.S. being overcrowded and the safety of U.S. Building a giant wall means that we United States is not welcoming any kinds of people that are not our race, especially Mexican! This is totally a prejudice! It is a slap on the Mexican’s face! This is like our civil war. Remember? We have a civil war because we are racist to skins that are black! We don’t want to have another civil war again, right? Some illegal immigrants do jobs that we Americans never do, this strongly support U.S. economic system.

We United States offer freedom to every single citizen. What about the illegal immigrants who settle their feet in this land of freedom? They also taste freedom. Legal immigrants and illegal immigrants are still people. They all deserved to taste freedom. Is it just because illegal immigrants don’t have paperwork so they are consider illegal. Let me tell you, one lifetime, one freedom. Law is dead, people is alive. Why not give them a chance to be free? Border security has stopped Mexico immigrants from coming… I am not trying to say that U.S. should have more immigrants, but I am saying that everyone gets a chance to taste freedom when they are still alive, right? If we build this giant wall, this may means we as people of United States are violating the meaning of freedom. Then, the revolution war that we once fought with England means nothing. Nothing! It is totally unfair to build a wall. George Bush is causing too much issues. Privacy and security, border security, gun control, etc. All these issues happen because of George Bush.

Remember, law is dead, people is alive. One freedom for one lifetime. Give a chance to everyone. Keep the dignity of freedom. Be justice. Make peace.

    Border security

I representative Conyers believe that border security is getting out of hand. Billions of dollars are being spent on the construction of the 700 mile fence. The U.S. spent some of the money to patrol the fences. I disagree with giving all that money to border security because I believe in amnesty and letting immigrants come into the united. I agree that due to what happened on 9/11 we should have some sort of protection against illegal immigrants but it can be settled by limiting the amount of immigrants coming into the United States. This can be done in a peaceful matter by simply making a deal with the Mexicans and creating programs in their countries that can help them meet the requirements of being an American before entering the United States. This way we would know who’s coming into the United States and we could prevent terrorist from coming into the United States. So in conclusion I disagree with border security but I believe there is a fare way to limit the amount of immigrants.
